George Karl is becoming an angry old man

Ex-NBA coach George Karl has a new book coming out and it is tiled 'Furious George'. I'm thinking it's titled appropriately after a few excerpts from the book have been released. Coach Karl calls out some of his ex-players like Carmelo Anthony, Kenyon Martin and J.R Smith. Specifically about Carmelo Anthony he says:

“He really lit my fuse with his low demand of himself on defense,” George wrote. “He had no commitment to the hard, dirty work of stopping the other guy. My ideal — probably every coach’s ideal — is when your best player is also your leader. But since Carmelo only played hard on one side of the ball, he made it plain he couldn’t lead the Nuggets, even though he said he wanted to. Coaching him meant working around his defense and compensating for his attitude.”

But the goes on to say:

"he was the greatest offensive layer I ever coached"

He's ripped into Anthony before though so this wasn't a huge surprise but he also spoke about his players growing up in fatherless homes. Also, in a recent interview he implied that Damian Lillard is the reason why the Portland Trailblazers aren't as successful as they could be.

Karl hasn't been in the media spotlight in a long time. Is it a coincidence he's causing this uproar weeks before his book is released?
