You HAVE to love Russell Westbrook

This is what's good about sports and what sports needs more of. Star athletes with personality. Look, I appreciate athletes who are mundane to the public eye because they try to protect their personal lives or their brand or whatever reason they want give as to why. But what I love is when athletes are real 100 percent of the time. Now that statement may make Dave Chappelle fans remember one of his classic sketches "When keeping it real goes wrong" but for the sake of realness this is a risk you have to take.

People love athletes they can relate to. Whether that's fashion-wise or by athleticism or most commonly by their feelings. Think about the athletes/coaches that fans love to see interviewed. Gregg Popovich, Bill Belichick, Richard Sherman and Odell Beckham just to name a few. It's because these guys are unscripted. They direct the interviews with their raw answers.

This is why we need to appreciate Russell Westbrook. This is a rare case of having an exceptional athlete that is raw. One who loves the game he plays and wears his emotion on his sleeve. Enjoy Mr. Westbrook while you can folks.
